Fork - Lightweight and sturdy, it is a monocoque in carbon fibre. Colnago was the first to introduce straight blades almost forty years ago and now they are now standard on almost all racing bikes worldwide.
Seat Post - With a traditional design, it has a diameter of 27.2 mm. More lightweight than an oversized post as well as being more comfortable, it features an integrated seatpost clamp which steps up the frame’s sleek streamlined aesthetic.
Bottom Bracket - Ceramicspeed - The bottom bracket has a standard Press-fit design with bearings installed directly into the carbon-fibre frame. What this means is that this part of the frame is wider, stiffer and more resistant to stress.
Reartriangle - Its compact design provides excellent handling and acceleration – on the flats or uphill. It has a generous wheel clearance to accommodate the usage of tyres up to 25mm in width.
Internal Cable Routing - Internal cable-routing strikes a perfect balance between performance and aesthetics. This design solution gives a modern look and good performance standards, as well as a better connection between the levers and two dérailleurs.
Frame Design - This bike design will exceed even the highest expectations. It will stand you in excellent stead whatever the conditions and boasts a structure that offers supreme comfort and precision handling. The integration of the seatpost clamp is a masterful detail.
Fulcrum Racing Quattro Carbon Clincher
The Fulcrum Racing Quattro Carbon takes the company's reputation for producing wheels with racing performance and everyday durability a step further by offering carbon construction and a wider stance for better aerodynamics, lower rolling resistance and enhanced grip. They're perfect for all applications, for the hardened racer or the weekend warrior alike.
The Racing Quattro Carbon boasts a 40mm rim height, as the 'Quattro' denomination suggests. Its Unidirectional full carbon construction ensures low weight and a 'stealth' aesthetic.
The Racing Quattro Carbon boasts a full UD carbon rim and 3k carbon braking surface, tipping the scales at a competitive 1,555g. Aluminium alloy hubs with an adjustable bearing system make for reliable performance in all conditions whilst Two-to-One spoke lacing on the rear wheel adds to the wheelset's strength.
Many professional and amateur cyclists around the world now use wider tyres because they offer noticeable benefits in terms of handling and rolling resistance, so the Racing Quattro Carbon has a European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation (ETRTO) measurement of 17C (24mm external) and has been engineered to work optimally with tyres ranging in widths of 25mm to 50mm.
Where are the aerodynamic advantages, however?
When rim width more closely matches tyre width, the airflow around this system tends to be smoother than the 'lightbulb' shape of a wide tyre and narrow rim. And when it comes to lowering rolling resistance, if you can comfortably accommodate wider tyres then you can run lower tyre pressures, which is turn decreases the impact that friction has on forward motion.
