Fork - Crafted from monocoque carbon fibre, it has been designed to support the built-in brake body at the front. The double hole was devised to house the dual-pivot direct-mount system. This makes the brakes stiffer as well as more powerful and aerodynamic. The head-set bearing rests directly on the cone-shaped carbon-fibre head. The dropouts are made from aluminium.
Carbon Rear Dropouts - Made from monocoque carbon fibre, they have a replaceable derailleur. This design solution provides considerable advantages in terms of strength and weight. The cable port for the rear gears (either mechanical or electronic) is positioned to the right.
Seat Post - Aerodynamics and integration has been taken to new heights on the seat post of the V2-r. A small diameter tube has been used to give extra comfort. The truncated profile of the seat post, like that of the seattube, guarantees an outstanding aerodynamic performance. The seat clamp integrated in the top tube makes for an even more pristine silhouette.
Brakes - The brakes are direct-mount which ensures ideal integration, both structural and aerodynamic, with the frame and fork. In terms of performance, this translates into a stiffer (therefore, more powerful) and lightweight system with a sleeker aesthetic.
Bottom Bracket - Ceramic Speed - It is based on Colnago’s TF28.5 standard. It combines the reliability and practicality of a threaded (BSA) bottom bracket, the width and the exceptional rigidity of the PressFit standard. There is an aluminium threaded sleeve inside the bottom-bracket juncture which two lightweight alloy cups have been threaded into. Within these, the bearings are pressed; they can be removed, if required.
