The passion of everyday life, the alarm clock that goes off for your morning training session, those "stolen" hours before dinner and your long Saturday outings with friends: adventure, goals, flow. These wheels are ideal for a variety of different situations, so we put ourselves in the shoes of those who might choose them and asked ourselves: what do these wheels need?
They're reliable, well-balanced in terms of weight and stiff enough for cyclists to clock up the kilometres with complete peace of mind. With these wheels cyclists can focus on enjoying their surroundings, drinking in the view behind each bend while keeping up with their seasonal schedule.
Fulcrum's R&D department have studied the market and produced their interpretation, creating Cross Country wheels to meet the demands of today's cycling routes. The wheels are ready to use and feature a wider groove with solid, sophisticated spoking.
These wheels have a definite wow factor and are a cut above the rest.
Technologies
AFS Axle System - The Axial Fixing System is the solution developed by Fulcrum to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
One Hub Fits All
2Way-Fit Ready MTB - This procedure transforms Red Zone 500-700 and Red Fire 500 wheels (designed to be used with an inner tube) into Tubeless Ready wheels (i.e. without the use of an inner tube but with the compulsory use of a sealant liquid).
To ensure the correct transformation of the wheels, it is obligatory to respect the procedure explained below, using the following components:
Microspline Freehub - They understand technical evolution as painstaking attention to product development, and it’s one of the cornerstones of all projects that come out of our R&D Department.
The Fulcrum spirit entails a constant effort to pick up and seize on new trends and keep pace with the most advanced technologies available.
This is why we adopted Shimano's Microspline standard as soon as the new racing drivetrains for 12-speed mountain bikes were presented, and will introduce the ground-breaking technology throughout our range.
The Shimano Microspline option will be available on all MTB and E-MTB wheels in the MY2020 catalogue.
At the same time, it will be possible to convert all wheels in the Red Zone, Red Metal and Red Fire range and all previously purchased and used E-MTBs featuring different bodies using a conversion kit comprising body and pivot.
